To pay an invoice, log in to the client area, open the invoice from My Invoices, choose a payment method and click Pay Now. The steps below cover paying a single invoice, paying several at once, saving a payment method and using account credit.
Paying a single invoice
- Log in to the client area.
- Click Billing in the menu, then select My Invoices.
- Find the invoice you want to pay. Each line shows the invoice date, due date, total and status (paid, unpaid or overdue).
- Click View Invoice next to the unpaid invoice.
- Use the drop-down list in the upper right corner to choose a payment method, for example card or PayPal.
- Click Pay Now below the drop-down list.
- Follow any extra steps for your chosen method, such as entering card details or completing payment on a provider's page like PayPal.
Once payment is confirmed, the invoice status changes to paid. If you paid by bank transfer or another manual method, this can take longer as Hostking needs to confirm the funds have arrived before marking the invoice as paid.
Paying several invoices at once
If you have more than one unpaid invoice, you may be able to pay them together instead of one at a time.
- Go to Billing and select Mass Payment.
- Click Pay All, or scroll down, select a payment method and click Make Payment.
- Enter your payment details and click Submit Payment.
If you don't see this option, pay each invoice individually or contact support for help.
Saving a payment method for future invoices
You can store a card or other payment details so you don't need to re-enter them each time.
- Go to Billing and select Payment Methods.
- Add your card or bank details.
- Set one method as the default, as this is used automatically for recurring charges.
You can still pick a different saved method manually when paying an individual invoice.
Using account credit to pay an invoice
If your account has a credit balance, you can apply it to an unpaid invoice instead of paying again by card or PayPal.
- Open the unpaid invoice from My Invoices.
- Look for the box showing your available credit balance.
- Apply the credit to the invoice.
To add funds in advance, click Add Funds on the client area homepage, enter an amount, choose a payment method and confirm. Note that you need at least one active service on your account before you can add funds this way.
If you pay more than an invoice total, the extra amount is added to your account as credit, which you can use against a future invoice.
Troubleshooting
- Invoice still shows as unpaid after paying: some methods, such as bank transfer, need to be confirmed manually, so there can be a short delay before the status updates.
- Card payment is declined: check the card details, expiry date and available balance, or try a different payment method.
- Payment page doesn't load or redirect fails: check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups, then try again.
- Still unresolved: contact Hostking through live chat on the website or by opening a support ticket from the client area.
