Yes, you can manage your Hostking account and hosting control panel from a smartphone or tablet using your browser. No app download is required.
Manage your account in the client area
The client area at my.hostking.host works in any mobile browser. Log in as normal to:
- View and manage your hosting services and domains
- Open and reply to support tickets
- Pay invoices
- Retrieve your support PIN
For help changing your name, email address or other account details, see the separate article on updating your personal details.
Access your control panel on mobile
Hostking uses cPanel or DirectAdmin, depending on your plan. Check your welcome email or the client area to see which one your hosting uses, then follow the matching steps below.
cPanel
- Open your mobile browser and go to
cpanel.yourdomain.com, or use the address and port given in your welcome email - Log in with your cPanel username and password
- If a mobile layout appears, use the search bar at the top to jump straight to a tool, such as "email" or "file manager"
- Use the quick-access icons for common tools, including Email Accounts, File Manager, Databases and Website Usage
Any up-to-date mobile browser, such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox, works with cPanel. Webmail is accessed the same way, at webmail.yourdomain.com.
DirectAdmin
- Go to my.hostking.host, click your hosting service, then click Login to DirectAdmin
- Alternatively, use the DirectAdmin login address from your welcome email
- Log in with your DirectAdmin username and password
DirectAdmin's current interface, called Evolution, is designed to adapt to smaller screens. From it you can create and manage email accounts, check disk usage, manage DNS records, use File Manager and view website statistics.
Troubleshooting
- If a page looks broken, stretched or cut off on your phone, switch to the Request Desktop Site option in your mobile browser's menu
- In DirectAdmin, if the Evolution skin displays incorrectly, go to your user settings and switch to a different skin, such as Enhanced
- For tasks such as bulk file uploads, database work or detailed file editing, use a desktop or laptop, as small screens make these tasks harder
- For safer logins from a phone, turn on two-factor authentication in your control panel's security settings, so a lost or stolen device cannot be used to sign in on its own
Read and send email on your phone
There are two ways to check email on mobile:
- Add the account to your phone's Mail app using the IMAP and SMTP settings from your welcome email. This is usually the better experience for daily use
- Use webmail in your browser by going to
mail.yourdomain.comand logging in with your email address and password
