How to Log Into DirectAdmin on Hostking (And Where to Find Your Login URL)

DirectAdmin is the control panel that comes with all Hostking shared hosting plans. It's where you manage your website files, email accounts, databases, DNS records and more. This guide shows you where to find your login details and how to access DirectAdmin.

Where to Find Your DirectAdmin Login Details

When your hosting account was activated, Hostking sent you a welcome email containing:

• Your DirectAdmin login URL — usually in the format https://yourservername:2222 or https://yourdomain.com:2222
• Your DirectAdmin username
• Your DirectAdmin password

Can't find the welcome email? Search your inbox for an email from Hostking with the subject "New Account Information" or "Hosting Account Details". Check your spam folder if you can't find it.

Method 1 — Log In via the Hostking Client Portal (Easiest)

You don't need to find the login URL manually — you can access DirectAdmin directly from your Hostking account.

Step 1 — Go to my.hostking.host and log in with your Hostking email and password.

Step 2 — Click Services in the top menu, then click My Services.

Step 3 — Click on your active hosting plan.

Step 4 — Click the Login to DirectAdmin button. You will be logged in automatically without needing a username or password.

This is the easiest method and works even if you've forgotten your DirectAdmin password.

Method 2 — Log In Directly via the DirectAdmin URL

Step 1 — Open your browser and go to your DirectAdmin URL from your welcome email. It will look like one of these:

Step 3 — Click Login.

What to Do if You Can't Log In

Forgotten your DirectAdmin password
Log into my.hostking.host, go to your hosting service, and look for a Change Password option. You can reset your DirectAdmin password from there without needing to know the old one.

"This site can't be reached" error
Your domain may still be propagating if it was recently registered or pointed to Hostking. Use Method 1 (via the client portal) instead — this bypasses DNS and will always work.

"Invalid username or password"
Make sure you're using your DirectAdmin username and password — not your Hostking client portal email and password. These are separate accounts with separate credentials.

Port 2222 is blocked
Some networks and ISPs block port 2222. If you can't connect, try using Method 1 via the client portal, or connect via a different network (e.g. mobile data).

Once logged in, DirectAdmin lets you:

• Create and manage email accounts
• Install WordPress via Softaculous
• Manage your website files via File Manager
• Create and manage MySQL databases
• Set up subdomains and domain aliases
• Manage DNS records
• Change your PHP version
• View disk usage and resource stats
• Generate and restore backups
