How to Create an Email Account in DirectAdmin
This guide shows you how to create a professional business email address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com) in DirectAdmin and get it working on your devices.
Step-by-Step
Step 1 — Log into DirectAdmin via my.hostking.host → your service → Login to DirectAdmin.
Step 2 — Under Email Manager, click Email Accounts.
Step 3 — Click Create Account or the + button.
Step 4 — Fill in the details:
Username — the part before the @ symbol. For example, entering info creates info@yourdomain.com. Keep it professional — common choices are info, hello, sales, support, or your name.
Password — choose a strong password. This is the password you'll use to log into webmail and set up email on your devices. Write it down somewhere safe.
Quota — the amount of storage allocated to this email account. The default is usually 250MB. You can increase this or set it to unlimited depending on your plan's storage limits. For most customers 500MB–1GB is plenty.
Step 5 — Click Create. Your email account is now active.
Step 6 — Set Up Your Email on Your Devices
Your new email account is ready to use. To access it you can either:
Use webmail — go to https://mail.yourdomain.com in any browser and log in with your full email address and password.
Set up on Outlook — see: How to Set Up Your Hostking Email in Microsoft Outlook (2016, 2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365)
Set up on iPhone/iPad — see: How to Set Up Business Email on iPhone and iPad
Set up on Android — see: How to Set Up Business Email on Android
Set up in Gmail — see: How to Send and Receive Your Business Email Through Gmail
Your Email Server Settings
If you need to manually configure your email client, use these settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming server (IMAP) | mail.yourdomain.com |
| IMAP Port | 993 |
| IMAP Encryption | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing server (SMTP) | mail.yourdomain.com |
| SMTP Port | 465 |
| SMTP Encryption | SSL/TLS |
| Username | Your full email address |
| Password | Your email account password |
Managing Multiple Email Accounts
You can create as many email accounts as your plan allows:
| Plan | Email Accounts Included |
|---|---|
| Launch | 10 |
| Starter | 25 |
| Premium | Unlimited |
To manage existing accounts, go to Email Manager → Email Accounts in DirectAdmin. From there you can change passwords, adjust quotas, delete accounts and access webmail.
